You all know how I despise fuel belts, right? They bounce around. They pinch. They make me even sweatier. They are fairly unattractive. They make me feel like a tourist.
You know what else bothers me when it comes to running convenience? Keys. Trying to find shorts with pockets so I can carry a house key or a car key. Tying up my shoes only to have to untie them to loop my key through my shoestring. Trying to discreetly hide my key somewhere outside the house, while making sure no one is watching me. (Yes, I’m an “always lock the door” type of person.)
Same goes for Gu. Half the time I don’t bring any with me simply because I don’t want to carry it. Also annoying? When I want to run with cash or a credit card. I NEED SO MANY THINGS!
After years of running, I’ve finally found a satisfying, simple solution. YEARS. FINALLY.
The Sprigs Banjees Wrist Wallet.
Sprigs’ mission is to “enhance your life by melding style and function into products of unique design. Whether your challenge is going on expedition in Antarctica, or helping out on the playground; whether you are backpacking Europe or remembering to pack your kid’s snack for school; whether you find your true self on the yoga mat or at the shopping mall…a great product is a great product, and you know it when you see it. Today you may be on the couch, tomorrow on the beach. No matter what, Sprigs can be your home.”
What a lovely little mission, right?! Style and function as it relates to my interests and my life. Yes please.
Essentially, the wrist wallet is a lightweight little pocket that slips onto your arm. A PORTABLE POCKET!! And the patterns are cute. Major plus. (Or if you’re a dude or someone who doesn’t want anything to do with “cute patterns”, they also have solid colors and reflective material. Stay safe, my friends.)
Sprigs has a variety of prints, colors, and styles including organic cotton, fleece, and recycled material, as well as regular and large sizes. I tested out the regular-sized polyspandex reversible Banjees Wrist Wallet in Pastel/Camo:
It stretches. It’s comfortable. It’s moisture wicking. It doubles as a sweat band. It’s machine washable for after those long runs or short runs or bike rides or hot days. Any day, really.
I’ve tested it out on runs and bike rides and walks to the coffee shop up the street. I don’t think it would be comfortable to run with a cell phone on my arm (I tested with an iPhone), but they do have larger sizes if that’s what you’re looking for.
Overall, I love it! It legitimately makes my life so much easier and helps me get out the door more quickly. I remember having this exact “too-much-stuff” issue during the New York City Marathon – I wanted to bring gels, cash, my ID, a credit card, and my phone (why do I need so much stuff?!) so I wore a light jacket with pockets…not only did it get hot enough to make me wrap the jacket around my waist, but then everything in the pockets was bouncing around and dragging me down. So. Annoying. I already can’t wait to use this in Philly. (I’ll save like, 40 minutes by not having a floppy jacket around my waist, right?) Coupled with my RoadID, I’m golden. And safe! And hydrated!
When I first received the wrist wallet I was worried that it would feel hot on my arm and make me uncomfortable/slip (I get annoyed super easily when running, can you tell?) but it didn’t slip, it didn’t itch, and honestly I barely noticed it. I DID notice the ease in getting prepared to run. No more tossing shirts around, trying to match them with my few pairs of “pocket shorts”. Overall, obviously, I give it an A.
Oh, if you’re wondering….yes, Sprigs provided me with the Banjees Wrist Wallet to review, but all opinions are 100% my own. Promise – I wouldn’t lead you astray.
They also graciously provided a coupon code just for you; using KaraRuns20 the Sprigs website will take 10% off orders up to $29.99 or 20% off $30 or over. This code is valid until 9/20 at 11:59 PM EDT.
I think next I’ll go for the yellow reflective style. (Ragnar preparation!) What style/print is your favorite?
Enjoy!

Glad to hear you like it!! Been thinking about getting one.. And a coupon code!? Can’t resist!
I love mine, I only wear it now. I have never found anything that worked for me until this.
