Thanks so much for visiting! I’m glad you’re here. I mean, otherwise, I’d basically just be talking to myself. You’ve probably figured this out, but I’m Kara. Hi!


I started this blog in 2011 because I love writing, I love running, and I wanted to meet new friends when I moved to New Jersey after college (University of Kansas – Rock Chalk Jayhawk!). After becoming immersed in this online community, I felt a complete shift in my mental outlook. My self-esteem improved, I felt more confident, and I had a strong sense of support. This all contributed to me being able to not only take the first step in chasing some of my biggest dreams, but allowed me to actually accomplish them on my own terms. Because of this, over time, this blog has evolved to become a place where I can empower others and show you, my dear reader, not only that wellness and healthy living is attainable and doesn’t have to be restrictive or exclusive, but that you CAN accomplish all those big, scary, crazy-feeling dreams. I’m here to help you get there on your own terms.
