No More Yoga Pants

I have a new routine. Starting today.

I’m officially employed again!

That was fast right? My interview was on Tuesday and today, Thursday, is my first day. And guess what? It sort of involves running! (Well, runners). I’ll give you a hint: I wrote about it in this post (which is coincidentally the first time I wrote about a “little twinge on my knee” which we all know turned out to be a full blown IT band/hamstring/knee/monster injury.

Anyway, if you want to hear more about what I’ll be doing, send me a message and I’ll give you the 411. (Do kids these days still say that?) You never know who’s reading and the last thing I need is a crazy person showing up at my office. You picking up what I’m putting down? Okay good!

So now I need your help. In my previous job we were spoiled beyond belief and had lunch, snacks, coffee, etc provided for us in an open kitchen everyday. Waffles and omelettes included. I know. WAFFLES. But I’m totally better off now. So, I need your best ideas for easy to pack snacks. And how to run-mute instead of commute! Do I leave clothes at the office? Just carry keys and a wallet while running? You people amaze me and I need to learn these skills.

Oh, and as I was dragging out all of my work clothes and crying that I can no longer wear yoga pants all day every day, I found a hidden stash of workout shorts! Jackpot. Do you think I have enough of the same pair?

Love the Nike shorts obviously. There’s some Under Armour thrown in there too.

Have a great day everyone! Is anyone else mourning the loss of daily yoga pants wearing? Starting a new job? Quitting a horrible job? A good run-muter? A good snacker? Tell me!

Haha those are my go-to shorts too, even though I am not friends with Nike anymore. I’ve learned that you should always pack more snacks than you think you need… because it sucks if you hit 2 or 3 in the afternoon and are hungry. :) I try to pack a morning and afternoon snack, along with my lunch. I’m interested to hear what you’re doing!!! And congrats on the first day. :)

Oh no, why aren’t you friends with Nike anymore?!

I’m definitely going to pack lots of snacks…I need to stock up at the grocery store this weekend.

Annnddd I’m basically doing logistics things for people who are running a marathon or half-marathon to raise money for blood cancers!

Congrats to you! They should be awesome to work for, loss of yoga pants aside!

I work from home, so I can pretty much wear whatever strikes my mood. And that’s usually along the lines of jeans/tees or workout wear!

Thank you so much! I’m so thankful and excited to work there.

I’m extremely jealous that you work from home, though! I think I could get a lot more done if I could just wear comfy workout gear :)

I can’t offer any advice on run-muting because we don’t have sidewalks here and with traffic, that would be about impossible.

Snacking, on the other hand… my job provides water (what a duh thing) and coffee (another duh thing). They did provide free soda when I started here but that was cut out by the wellness committee so now coffee sustains me, but anyway. If you have a fridge (we do) you’re in luck… I bring a lunchbox that contains Greek yogurt at the beginning of the week, sometimes baby carrots in there, fruits like grapes, etc. I also keep apples pretty much all the time at my desk and I have a desk drawer with granola and protein bars in it. I agree with packing more than you need but really I just keep things here because that’s easier.

Great advice! I realized today that I don’t have drawer…bummer! But I can probably throw some granola bars and such in a bag and set it under my desk. We do have a fridge so I will certainly make use of that. Definitely will bring a bunch of snacks at the beginning of each week so I don’t have to worry about it everyday!
